On planet earth, everything is perfect. War and fighting and disagreements are obsolete. Every mind on the planet is identical. No person knows more about anything than any other person. No person knows any less.
When babies are born on planet earth, they know every bit of information that exists on the planet. The grandest, most complex concepts are known to every person on earth.
All the diversity on earth was deemed inefficient centuries ago, and everything was then standardized. Instead of spending time after birth teaching children to read and write, they are born knowing how to. This is because, for the past nine months, they have been fed information constantly while in the womb.
Unfortunately, some babies' brains haven't adapted properly to his changing way of life. They seem to have a limit to how much information they can absorb. They reach this limit long before they are able to absorb everything that they are expected to absorb. They are born dumb, slow, and they lack the common sense to dislodge their heads from the clouds.
It is a sad existence for these simpletons. Society is catered to the humans of genius intelligence. These simpletons can barely function. Everything in this society in machine-oriented. These machines read the thoughts of the person using them at near-instant speed and then proceed to give them whatever it is they want. For the less intelligent ones, however, their brains do no process fast enough for the machines to get a clear reading, and they are left lagging. It often takes a person of higher intellect to go to the machine and un-jam its processes.
Because of this, these unintelligent individuals are not allowed to roam. They are kept in an isolation building, where they will hopefully die if deprived of resources for long enough. There are only ten of them in existence, so if they die, the gene that caused the information feed to be unsuccessful will hopefully die with them.
--
During this time, a killer surfaced. There had never been a criminal in this new society before, and when one was found to exist, the intellectuals jumped into action.
One would think that if a society of geniuses sought to solve a crime, it would be solved instantly. However, this case was never solved. The motive for murder was unclear and seemed logic-defying. The method used to kill was unknown. The murderer even seemed to completely drop off the radar when they should have been tracked.
All of these great minds were baffled, and the killings continued. The planet was stunned out of their highly developed minds when the murderer was turned in by, of all people, an unintelligent person. There were even more shocked to be told that the killer himself was also one of the unintelligent ones.
This defied all logic. These people were kept in a chamber of isolation. How could one escape and go on a killing spree? It was explained that since the machines didn't register their thought patterns, they could not be tracked. As primitive as it seems, the murderer broke out of the prison using force. This seemed impossible to the intellectuals, as it was so basic and downright stupid.
The next impossibility that was addressed was the method.  It was never understood why the bodies were so clean. The one who turned in the killer explained that it wasn't always that way. The bodies had been bloody messes, but the blood had been flushed away with a hose. This escaped the intellectuals' thought because it was so. Damn. Basic. So primitive. How could a person just do that? A body was so easy to dispose of, so why could someone be so lazy in their killings?
With much doubt, they ask for motive. Why did this killer kill? It had to have been revenge, or to save themselves. But revenge for an intelligent person? How could they feel something as complicated as revenge? And saving themselves? From what? There's nothing to be saved from! They have no friends, they have no worries. They don't even have the ability to comprehend what could save them or doom them.
With as much patience as was possible, the simpleton explained that they were angry. Angry? What is anger? As intellectuals all that is known is what is right and wrong. Opinions do not exist, and emotions do not either. And what did the unintelligent ones have to be angry about? They lived easy, simple lives. Much less complex than the lives of the geniuses. They had no right to be angry!
It was then explained that the killer wasn't angry at anything. He was angry for the sake of being angry. He was angry because he needed to let it all out. He was angry because he'd never been angry before and it was just something that he felt he needed to do, for some reason.
This was deemed impossible by the intellectuals, and the two simpletons were locked away in the same isolation chamber again, with all the others. The murders never stopped, and the killer was never caught. People died frequently. They were slain and hacked limb from limb. Their blood painted the streets and foamed up in the gutters, flooding the city crimson. The people stood waist deep in their own sticky, reeking ignorance, all because they refused to change their firm belief that if something wasn't logical, it wasn't possible.

YOU WERE FUN! BAM!

Shenanigans aside, good piece. I like the concept of a higher society being tormented by those they deem inferior.
